I think I'm turning into a cynic -- doesn't seem that long ago that I would get uber-excited when the fake santas and sparkly decorations started being overlaid on regular TV ads because I knew the real thing was on its way.  *le sigh*  It feels waaaay too soon to start Christmas sales!!!  Has christmassy advertising taken over on your TV screens yet?

I give you the dulcet tones of Alan Rickman (who I have been secretly in love with since Truly, Madly, Deeply) to salve any other pre-Christmas-ravaged souls out there.

Embed not working, so you'll have to clicky linky:  call off christmas

In other news, the carbon tax just made it through the senate here ... now, if we can just convince the rest of the world!

Bwa! LOVE that Alan Rickman moment!

I hate how early it all comes out too - especially because our kids start their Christmas countdown the moment Halloween is over *groans*

I guess I was caught all unprepared ... halloween's such a zero deal here I don't connect the two dates with any significance - LOL!

Alan makes up for it, though. :)

Ick - Christmas Pageant already?? I'm so not in the zone yet -- it will come, I know, just NOT YET!! ;P

Sounds like you won't be having an ideal Christmas, sweetie. I'm so sorry. Chin up - the 27th will come before you know it!

Card shops declared Christmas in September, though last Saturday was the first Frosty the Snowman outbreak. As long as the snow keeps away this year and the oven doesn't break again I'll survive it.

Ack ack ack - durn greeting card manufacturers! You had a Christmas oven disaster? Now that has to top the list of things guaranteed to complicate Christmas!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you re the snow if you can return the favour and help me ward off temps higher than 30C over here?? :)

I have a candle for all emergencies which I shall light on your behalf. I have not uploaded my seasonal icons yet though as I am still in autumn.

For brief details here is the Christmas oven disaster with attendant snow

Dear Lord - that sounds like a Christmas to remember - hope your mum and dad's place wasn't too far through the snow!! Hope you can laugh about it now, although it seems that everything went off okay in the end! Here's to working ovens and clement weather for all of us!! Shame about the lotto!

Shall light a reciprocal candle. :D

Only 25 miles though the first 8 were the worst as the roads hadn't been cleared very well in the next village for some reason. Still we did have a good Christmas and lived to tell the tale! (;

I've been in love with the film title Truly, Madly, Deeply since I first heard it. Didn't even know it was a film title to begin with.

Such a gorgeous film - AR's beautiful voice ... guh! And my first introduction to Juliet Stephenson, who shines in it. So, what did you think TMD was?
